Lisa Frigo
Lisa Frigo began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Denver, where she prosecuted thousands of felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases. From there, she launched her criminal defense and family law career, where she’s been practicing for the past 8 years. Her experience as a District Attorney has greatly enhanced her ability to successfully litigate and zealously advocate for her clients in the realms of both criminal defense and family law.
Over the course of her career, Lisa has received the Super Lawyers Rising Star award, a distinction that fewer than 2.5% of lawyers in the state meet and has achieved a 10-rating on AVVO. She prides herself on being accessible to her clients and making sure her clients feel their case is being handled with care, diligence, and professionalism.
When she isn’t practicing law, Lisa enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her husband and two dogs, Tag and Tucker. She is an avid runner and Peloton fanatic, and loves spending time in the mountains.

Laurie Joe
Laurie is a Colorado native and attended the University of Denver for both her undergraduate and law degrees. Laurie worked in the criminal justice system for several years before attending law school. She began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Douglas and Arapahoe Counties, where she gained invaluable litigation experience that she applies to both her criminal and family law practice.
Laurie has spent the majority of her extensive legal career representing clients in domestic related legal matters. Laurie is a compassionate attorney who understands how emotionally devastating family matters can be. She prides herself on providing her clients with strong counsel and guidance. Laurie’s clients benefit from her extensive family law experience and undergraduate degree in psychology. Laurie handles most family law related issues including, but not limited to, divorce and legal separation, child custody, paternity, child support, modifications of current orders, social services cases, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
After litigating high-conflict domestic matters for more than a decade, Laurie began offering mediation services to reduce the emotional and financial damage caused by ongoing and high-conflict litigation. With her experience as a litigator, Laurie provides her mediation clients with valuable insight into the strengths and weaknesses of their case and can often offer creative solutions to assist in the resolution of cases without going to court.
Laurie’s work as a Deputy District Attorney gives her unique insight into how prosecutors think and manage cases, which is an extraordinary benefit she brings to the clients she now defends. In her criminal defense practice, Laurie focuses on misdemeanor and traffic offenses including but not limited to alcohol related offenses (DUI, DWAI), minor-in-possession charges, and domestic violence.
When she isn’t practicing law, Laurie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, and shopping. Laurie’s faith is important to her, as is her involvement in charitable organizations. Laurie served on the Board of Directors at Southeast Community Outreach (SECOR) and Southeast Counseling Center. She is actively involved and supports several local charities and values giving back to her community.
Morgan Thompson
Morgan Thompson is a paralegal with Frigo Joe Law. Morgan first joined the industry as a paralegal in 2017 and has been the paralegal for Laurie Joe and Lisa Frigo since her career began. Prior to becoming a paralegal, Morgan worked as a business manager in high-end retail, and has over five years of business management experience. This is especially helpful when it comes to complex financial cases, as Morgan frequently reviews and analyzes all of the potential outcomes in a case as it relates to property division, family support and other financial issues. Morgan transitioned to becoming a paralegal because she wanted the opportunity to connect with clients on a personal level, and has always had an interest in the law.
Morgan graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in advertising in 2015 and eventually would like to attend law school so she can provide more in depth assistance to clients. Outside of the office, Morgan loves traveling and hiking with her husband and two dogs, JoJo and Ellie.
